New Founders Society

Saying thank you now for your legacy giving

When Mother Mary Xavier Mehegan established Saint Elizabeth University in September 1899, she solicited the kind cooperation of friends and patrons in the undertaking, “which has for its special object the higher education of women.”

A century later, in 1995, Sister Jacqueline Burns created the New Founders Society to celebrate friends and patrons whose generous estate gift intentions promised to continue to recreate Saint Elizabeth University in the spirit of its original founders.

Today, the university endowment exceeds $20 million and numerous transformative programs and projects have been implemented as a result of gifts from New Founders Society members. From the expansion and renovation of science labs to endowed scholarships in a variety of academic disciplines, estate gifts continue to enable the Saint Elizabeth University to fulfill its mission of educating all students for leadership in service to others.

As a New Founders Society member, you will be recognized in our annual President’s Report and donor honor rolls, invited to our annual President’s Council Luncheon and other special events, and kept close through personal communications as expressions of our gratitude.
